Morefine makes a Ryzen 7 7840HS version of this also. I can't find any reviews of it, but it's identical to the 7940HS version. So you could easily watch this review if you are looking for a review of the Ryzen 7. The interesting thing is, the Ryzen 7 version is cheaper while it uses the same iGPU, and benchmarks are almost identical. I think that makes the 7840 the best one, as the 6900 has weaker graphics. I have the 7840 BAREBONE on order, along with a 24GB dual channel DDR5 5600 kit on a different order. Yes, that is 2 X 12GB, which is perfect. While I usually go for 32GB, I do monitor my RAM usage with rarely goes past 16GB and never hits 20GB. So even if I dedicate 4GB for video, 24GB of RAM will be perfect. From earlier projects and upgrades I've got 1TB gen 3 NVME, 2TB gen 3 NVME and a WD 1TB 2.5" SATA SSD. I was happy to discover all of that extra storage would fit in this. :) Can't wait to assemble this beast with 24GB of dual channel RAM and 5TB of onboard storage. Overkill for HTPC, but will do some gaming, also.

For anyone having resolution issues while in the geforce now app, be sure to change the resolution in properties before opening the app. 1280x720 should be good, but give others ago and see what best suits your needs.

Had an absolute nightmare trying to get this working, here's all the problems I ran into. Problem 1: I ran the script and I got a weird prompt about "Remote 'flathub' found in multiple installations" and had to pick between user and system which I didn't know what to do (I think user is the correct choice here). Once the installer finished I cleaned up the files in the download folder and found that when I went back into game mode and tried to run geforce now, it just immediately crashed, well it turns out it runs the script from the extacted folder which I deleted in downloads. so had to redownload and extract it again. Problem 2: It ran fine on the deck screen itself but I wanted to dock it to my TV, however the resolution seemed to be capped at the deck screen resolution of 1280x800. Setting the resolution in the steam game properties did not change the window size and it remained at 1280x800. Eventually I discovered that the window size is pre-configured in the script for specifically the steam deck screen. The solution is setting your resolution in the game properties first, then you need to toggle fullscreen in the chrome browser. You can do this by hitting F11 (which is a pain becuase the virtual keyboard doesnt have F keys, so you'll need to map it to a button and you'll need to do it everytime you launch), or add --start-fullscreen to the script so it starts in fullscreen mode everytime. Problem 3: I am a free tier geforce now user so I was greeted with being 130th in queue, so I decided to leave it in queue while I do something else... an hour later, I was in position 30, however my controller wouldnt reconnect after it went to sleep, so I was forced to abandon the queue. After some testing I can confirm that it will not accept bluetooth controller inputs the moment that a controller connection is interrupted, be it the controller goes to sleep, or if it loses connection for a split second. (changing controller order did not work) At this point about 3 hours had passed since I decided to try geforcenow and I hadn't been able to play anything... I thought maybe I'll try again, and after just a few minutes in the queue (back at 130) my controller briefly lost connection and I lost input again. (I tried multiple xbox controllers with the same result)

My trashcan 2013 64Gb 12core D500 512Gb it is pretty much unsupported so I changed the ssd for a 1TB and installed windows 11 pro not and bootcamp I had some problems with graphics drivers for the d500 but it is now sorted :) My kids now have their own trashcan and they like it quite well with windows! perfect little gaming console!

I love the overall design but the brightness is so disapointing.

Is there any way to rig a back button to exit Dolphin? I don't want to have to get up and use the touch screen to exit a game if I can help it, and pressing the Xbox button will leave the app but not close the emulation. It's the only thing preventing me from using the phone as a dedicated TV set top box for retro gaming. I know I could use MMJR but then I'd have to root the device to install Turnip drivers, so that wouldn't be a good option there.

1:21 500 nit brightness 240hz give you 7hr of 4k video playback. That's not bad. But can you test 300 nit and 90hz. You know 90hz is enoug to scrolling down while reading look nicer.

I believe Xreal makes the cable you're looking for. I have one. It requires power to work and works with the Xreal Beam.

I tested this last night. The install went easy enough (I had to add the artwork as well manually). After logging into GFN, I can move the mouse and use the D pad, but the right trigger doesnt work as a regular mouse click and I have to use the touch screen to select something. Is there anything I need to set as far as controls to make the GFN menus work? Once I started Fortnite through GFN, it detected all the Steam controls no problem and everything worked in game at least. If it's only the GFN menu that I have use touchscreen, thats really no big deal.

I think this is going to be my next handheld i purchase. The screen looks amazing for all the systems from the 80s and 90s and really that is all i want to play on one of these retro devices. The quality of the dpad is my only real concern and I don't even see myself touching or using the analog sticks.
